A friend of mine recently lost a member of her family, her adorable pup Kahlan due to a law in place where she lives that bans pitbulls. I don’t know enough to have a real strong opinion, but I know from experience that any breed can be a dangerous breed if left untrained and mistreated. I’ve even been bitten by a small chihuahua. I don’t want to discredit anyone’s feelings or experience having been harmed by a pitbull, but I do know they can be the most gentle loving furbabies If trained well and loved. I can’t imagine the devastation my friend went through having to let her go… that had to have been so hard. I would be beside myself if that happened to me with my precious Henry. :'( What a beautiful dog Kahlan is. 🙂

About the Artist

I’m an artist, author, and poet. My work is often shaped by lived experiences and by paying close attention to the world around me… nature, and the people who have helped shape my life.

I usually paint first, and the words come later. Painting has been the safest way I’ve found to be honest about things that are hard to say out loud, and over time I’ve noticed other people finding their own stories in the work too.

My paintings are meant to comfort, to feel like a presence rather than a statement, and to give space for each person to find their own meaning. The connection that happens there matters most to me.
