I had a lot of really good suggestions for this topic, one in particular stood out to what I feel ‘the last days’ would be like, for ‘if ye are prepared – ye shall not fear’…:

After thinking for a bit, I was reminded of some camping trips we had in the mountains watching the sun go down where you knew that soon the darkness would envelope you…and in that stealth the change comes… (like the light of the campfire)… So… for the imagery I pictured the opposite…the darkness already there, but with the rays of sunshine coming behind me… as in a sunrise…the feeling of renewal, (with the rays on your face) that made me turn toward it with hope, a new beginning, impelling me, pulling me to forge on toward those rays of light.” – Carol

About the Artist

I’m an artist, author, and poet. My work is often shaped by lived experiences and by paying close attention to the world around me… nature, and the people who have helped shape my life.

I usually paint first, and the words come later. Painting has been the safest way I’ve found to be honest about things that are hard to say out loud, and over time I’ve noticed other people finding their own stories in the work too.

My paintings are meant to comfort, to feel like a presence rather than a statement, and to give space for each person to find their own meaning. The connection that happens there matters most to me.
