I woke up with a Taylor Swift lyric in my head “People throw rocks at things that shine”… I thought that was random…then I thought some more on it and came up with this…

We all, from time to time… some more than others… doubt ourselves, question whether or not we should have said this or done that…but there is something we should always remember:

There will always be critics (it may even be you, being your own critic), people who have opinions [based on their own life experience and level of understanding]… but remember – only hurt people, hurt people… have sympathy towards them, forgive them, and move on – living YOUR life…

***
– There will always be people who need to hear what you have to say…
– There will always be people who need to see you do what you do…
– There will always be an audience who will cheer for you…
***

The numbers may not be great, but if you can make a significant difference in one person’s life, and that one person goes on to carry a reflection of your example and influences more people, and the ripple effect adds up to thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions… isn’t it worth showing up to the table and being unafraid to be YOU for that one person?

Do it for that one person… say it for that one person… YOU are needed, wanted, and LOVED by so many more people than you realize. ❤️????

About the Artist

I’m an artist, author, and poet. My work is often shaped by lived experiences and by paying close attention to the world around me… nature, and the people who have helped shape my life.

I usually paint first, and the words come later. Painting has been the safest way I’ve found to be honest about things that are hard to say out loud, and over time I’ve noticed other people finding their own stories in the work too.

My paintings are meant to comfort, to feel like a presence rather than a statement, and to give space for each person to find their own meaning. The connection that happens there matters most to me.
