Who in your life has taught you the most about charity? (please share in a comment below)

I asked this of my Facebook friends, and my sweet niece shared with me her feelings about her Mom…

My mom has taught me more than anyone what it means to really love and what charity it-the REAL, PURE, TRUE, SELFLESS love of Christ. I cannot count the infinite number of things she has done to show love to hundreds-even thousands-of people. It has always been something I have admired so much in her and that’s what makes her my hero. Above all, I have watched her raise all ten of us with that same kind of love and have always felt her love for me. So here is a picture (among many!) of her doing just what she does best-loving her children.” – Anna

About the Artist

I’m an artist, author, and poet. My work is often shaped by lived experiences and by paying close attention to the world around me… nature, and the people who have helped shape my life.

I usually paint first, and the words come later. Painting has been the safest way I’ve found to be honest about things that are hard to say out loud, and over time I’ve noticed other people finding their own stories in the work too.

My paintings are meant to comfort, to feel like a presence rather than a statement, and to give space for each person to find their own meaning. The connection that happens there matters most to me.
