Close Up – Detail

Back in 2008 I was more of a fan of Barack Obama, mainly because like many Americans, I had high hopes that Obama would bring much needed change. This year with Mitt Romney as the alternative choice, I prefer his work experience—his track record of taking a failing business, investments and the Olympics and either cutting the losses, or turning them into massive success. Regardless, the past four years, President Obama has done the best he can with what he has learned throughout his life. We haven’t been attacked by terrorists, our Country has been safe (aside from the economy issues). For the more enthusiastic fans of Obama, I painted this portrait for you! 🙂

About the Artist

I’m an artist, author, and poet. My work is often shaped by lived experiences and by paying close attention to the world around me… nature, and the people who have helped shape my life.

I usually paint first, and the words come later. Painting has been the safest way I’ve found to be honest about things that are hard to say out loud, and over time I’ve noticed other people finding their own stories in the work too.

My paintings are meant to comfort, to feel like a presence rather than a statement, and to give space for each person to find their own meaning. The connection that happens there matters most to me.
